Our Top 3 Tips To Make Your Tan Last

A sunless tan can be a great way to get a gorgeous, golden glow without having to expose your skin to damaging UV rays. But as anyone who's ever had a sunless tan knows, they don't always last as long as you'd like them to. If you're looking for ways to make your sunless tan last longer, here are a few tips to follow.

Before and after spray tan,

Moisturize morning and night with a high-quality spray-safe lotion. Keeping your skin hydrated is key to making any type of tan last longer. If you can pair this with drinking a good amount of water your skin will thank you! This will help keep your skin from drying out and will help it fade evenly! Pro Tip 1: when your tan is fading evenly you can put a thin layer of self-tanner over it! As long as you are lightly exfoliating every couple of days (which should take you no more than 20-30 seconds) you can do another thin layer of tanner over it. Not comfortable using a self-tanner or mousse? Grab our GloExtend Tan Booster this self-tanner is super easy to apply just like lotion with the perfect amount of tanner in it.

Avoid hot showers and baths. Hot water can cause your tan to fade faster, so try to avoid taking hot showers or baths and use more of a lukewarm temp while you have a sunless tan. If you must shower in hot water, limit yourself to no more than five minutes. And when you get out of the shower, be sure to pat yourself dry instead of rubbing. Pro Tip 2: After your shower put the moisture back into your skin with a high-quality lotion or even better our tan booster which is moisturizing and loaded with DHA to keep your skin glowing and your tan lasting.

Pro Tip 3: Use a tanning mist/facial spray at night. This is an amazing tip for a couple of reasons. Our face always fades the fastest from washing. So at night add your tanning mist to your skin care regimen. You can put it on at two different points depending on how much color you need. If you want to just touch up your tan use it at the end of your nighttime regimen right before your moisturizer. If you want to add a good amount of color put it on after washing your face and then finish with your skin care products. Be sure to use a generous amount and blend in really well and into your neck. Let it dry first before applying your next product. You should wake up with the perfect glow, if not repeat the next night until you get the color you want. Sometimes I do it a couple nights a week or sometimes even every night since it's so easy to add into my routine. Experiment with this for a couple of nights, to start less is more and add more as you learn what you like.
